Day 1: (Colostrum) - Small frequent feeds of colostrum - 5-7 ml - Size of a small cherry or marble. 2-3 hourly feeds > Normal.
Day 3 : (Stomach stretches) - Milk production increases, which encourages baby to feed more frequently - 22-27 ml - Size of a walnut.
Day 7: (1 week) - Frequent feedings now have baby taking 45-60 ml at a feed - Size of a small peach. 2-3 hourly feeds > Normal.
Day 14: (2 weeks) - Frequent feedings help establish the milk supply. Baby is now drinking 80-150ml a feed - Size of an egg.
